Week Two, Phase One

Many an object is not seen, though it falls within the range of our visual ray, because it does not come within the range of our intellectual ray, i.e. we are not looking for it. So, in the largest sense, we find only the world we look for. ~ Journal, July 2, 1857 -Henry David Thoreau

I hope this Sunday evening finds you well.  My thoughts have been on each of you countless times during the first week of The Twelve Week Food Journal; I see success in your eyes and hope in your hearts.  The above gentleman is Henry David Thoreau, a philosopher (among a myriad of other crafts) born July 12, 1817 died May 6, 1862.  This passage, taken from Thoreau's journal, embodies the spirit of Phase One in the Southern Fried Fitness Twelve Week Food Journal.  Some of you have asked me why we aren't focusing more on food, or calories etc...  Phase One is not about either of those things, it is about educating ourselves and broadening our intellectual range; bringing focus and attention to the areas we want to improve upon.

In week two you will begin to feel a heightened sense of awareness in your choices; continue to diligently record your thoughts, your food choices, the time etc...  You are shedding light on a subject that, in the weeks to come, will be carefully analyzed and examined; we must have all of the pertinent information to accurately assess the situation and plan our strategy.

Each of you will continue to be in my thoughts; I have made this journey and the enlightenment that comes from understanding the shear power of your will is enough to make you feel invinsible! Who's to say you aren't?
Your Sister in Success,
Robin
